Foothill College student Stacey Shelton knows that she owes a debt of gratitude to a Los Altos couple who she’ll never meet.
Though deceased, Lola and Steve Kaider had the vision to provide scholarships for Foothill students who are training for in-demand health care careers.
Shelton, a single parent who is completing Foothill’s Respiratory Therapy Program, is the 2014 recipient of the Kaider Scholarship President’s Award, which includes a $5,000 stipend. This year, 30 other Foothill College students who are training for health care careers have received awards ranging from $1,000 to $1,800 from the Kaider Scholarship Fund.
You can help students train for rewarding careers by creating a new scholarship or contributing to an existing award. For more information, call the Foothill-De Anza Foundation at (650) 949-6233.
