On-Campus Employment

Employment is considered on-campus only if it is on the campus of the school/university that issued your I-20. Generally, international students are able to find part-time positions at the bookstore, library, cafeteria or other offices at Foothill College.

Eligibility and limitations
International students are eligible for on-campus employment two weeks after the beginning of their first quarter of enrollment at Foothill College. Additionally, you are registered for a minimum of 12 units (except the summer quarter), and are in lawful F-1 immigration status.

You are permitted to work up to a maximum of 19 hours per week during fall, winter and spring quarters.

Summer Employment Rules:

F-1 students employed on-campus during the Spring term: you are allowed to continue your employment up to 19 hours per week during the summer session. Summer registration is optional.

F-1 students NOT employed on-campus during the Spring term: you are required to enroll in a minimum 6 units in the Summer in order to be employed on-campus for a maximum of 19 hours per week during the summer session.
You must meet with Arthur Levine in the International Office to discuss working on-campus during the time period between the end of the summer session and the first day of the Fall term.
