Graphic and Interactive Design (2015-2016)
The Graphic & Interactive Design Program offers training for careers in the exciting, dynamic fields of graphic design, website design, multimedia, illustration and digital publishing. Students enrolled in this program develop basic and advanced skills in the important processes of layout, design and drawing while cultivating proficiencies in the leading edge graphics software. Students receive a balance of instruction that includes, visual arts and general education courses that are designed to produce a well-rounded, highly-trained graduate with sufficient expertise to be employable in an ever-expanding job market. Program Learning Outcomes
Students will understand the design process from sketching to final comprehensive.
Students will be able to create unique graphic designs that communicate ideas to others.
 
Career Opportunities
Career opportunities include the following: graphic design, print design, interactive design, advertising, marketing, publishing, illustration, graphic arts production, digital and traditional printmaking, cartooning, and fine art.

Associate Degree Requirements:
English proficiency: ENGL 1A, 1AH, 1S & 1T, ESLL 26 or equivalent.
Mathematics proficiency: MATH 57, 105, 108 or equivalent.
A minimum of 90 units is required* to include:

*Additional elective course work may be necessary to meet the 90-unit minimum requirement for the associate degree.

NOTE: All courses pertaining to the major must be taken for a letter grade. In addition, a GPA of 2.0 or higher is required in all core and support courses for the degree or certificates.
