  • Basic English Skills: Sentence and paragraph structure and practical application.
  • Introduction to Word: Introduction to the practical use of Word.
  • Resources in the Community: Locating and maximizing community support systems.
  • Job Training/Internship: On-the-job training experiences at Foothill College.
  • Current Events: Increases awareness and knowledge of current events and the varioyus methods of finding updated news.
  • Communication Skills: Develop effective communication in employment and social settings.
  • Physical Education: Basic fitness training.
Winter Quarter
  • Office Skills: Current office technology and equipment; investigate different work environments.
  • Introducation to Excel: Hands on experience with Excel spreadsheets, charts and tables.
  • Job Training/Internship: On-the-job training experiences at Foothill College.
  • Work Behaviors and Attitudes: Practice the behaviors and attitudes that will lead to success in the workplace.
  • Basic Math Skills: Basic math functions, money handling and practical math uses.
  • Physical Education: Basic fitness training.
  • Current Events: Increases awareness and knowledge of current events and the various methods of finding updated news.
Spring Quarter
  • Job Search Skills - The Resume: Resume writing and job application procedures.
  • Interview Preparation: Strengthening interview skills and techniques.
  • Job Training/Internship: On-the-job training experiences at Foothill College.
  • Physical Education: Basic fitness training.
  • Current Events: Increases awareness and knowledge of current events and the various methods of finding updated news.
  • Disability and the Law: Discussion of individual rights and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
  • Introduction to PowerPoint: Introduction to PowerPoint presentations and public speaking.
