Most classified staff in the district are represented by one of three unions. District information for members of the different bargaining units is available on the Human Resources Web site. There you can find electronic versions of the current bargaining agreements, salary schedules, and various forms. Below is some additional information about each of the units and a link to the union's Web site.

District workers in the skilled trades (such as plumbers, communications
technicians, and gardeners) are generally members of the California School
Employees Association (CSEA), Chapter 96. More information is available on
FHDA Skilled Trades Chapter 96 Web site.

Supervisors are members of a relatively new category of classified staff who supervise other classified staff but who are not considered managers. That is, they perform some but not all managerial functions. Job titles typically have the word "supervisor" in them, as opposed to "coordinator" or something else. Supervisors are represented by the Teamsters. More information is available on the Teamsters National Union web site.
Confidential staff are a small group whose members typically work directly for senior managers or in sensitive human resources positions. Confidential staff are not represented by a union, but they typically receive salary and benefit changes similar to those of the bargaining unit members.
The staff of Foothill-De Anza are blessed with senate and union leaders who recognize the benefits of working together to improve staff welfare. The groups work in a complementary fashion, often serving on the same committees but performing different functions. The unions are the exclusive agents for their members in all negotiable matters, including contract negotiations over salary, benefits, and working conditions. The senates support the staff by working on issues of staff professionalism.
