Minimum Prerequisites

All requirements listed below are subject to change. For the most up-to-date information, please refer to the current application for each program.

Two-Year Program Prerequisites
  • High school diploma or equivalency;
  • High school or any college Chemistry course with a lab;
  • MATH 105, 108, or 57 (Intermediate Algebra) or equivalent;
  • ENGL 1A or ESL 26 or equivalent;
  • AHS 200 or any Medical Terminology course (2 units or higher);
  • Minimum GPA of 2.5;
  • Compliance with specific technical standards; and
General education courses are waived for students who have a bachelor's degree from an accredited U.S. college or university. The RSPT 200L course is strongly recommended for all applicants.

Strong Recommendation

Though not prerequisites, we strongly recommend potential applicants complete all General Education requirements, PSYCH 1, Microbiology, and Anatomy & Physiology prior to applying to the Respiratory Therapy program. The Anatomy & Physiology course must be a year-long series with labs.
