The Dental Assisting Program applications are available from the Biology and Health Sciences Division office, or can be downloaded
and printed from this site. Admission is limited to 30 full-time students.
Admission is based on criteria approved by Foothill College and consistent with State and Federal law, regulations and program accreditation guidelines.
Applications are reviewed on a first come, first serve basis, and are available year-round. The earlier an application is submitted, the earlier a student can be screened for Fall admission into the program. Complete applications on file before June 15th, for the incoming Fall class, will have priority. Students can continue to apply after June 15th, and will be notified if there are openings in the program.
All applicants admitted into this program are required to undergo standard Federal background checks with all costs borne by the student. Students will also be required to complete a physical examination, including drug testing, by a physician of your choice. Admission will be contingent upon completion of this examination. The completed physical examination form must be returned to the Foothill College Dental Assisting Program by the first day of school. This evaluation will help us to determine your ability to comply with the technical standards of the program which are listed on the application.
- Selected admission to the Dental Assisting Curriculum is based on a high school diploma or equivalent.
- A minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.0 or higher.
- Compliance with the technical standards.
