Ed Villalpando comes to the Foothill College women soccer team with an extensive
coaching background. Ed has coached at many levels including club, high school, ODP, and college.
In 2004, his club team won the Northern California Snickers State Cup Championship and also U.S. Club National Championship. He possesses various coaching licenses and has participated in many different coaching seminars across the country. Coach Flannery is very excited about having coach Villapando on his staff.
"Ed and I have coached together for over 10 years, the teams we have coached have had great success. Ed is a big part of Foothill College Soccer. He spends most of his time working with our offense and making sure we play a nice style of soccer. Without his help we could never have had the success we had."
In College Katherine (Kathy) Schaefers played for Foothill
College from 2001-2002. She was a scholar-athlete during both years. As a
freshman, Schaefers was named California Goalkeeper of the Year. Kathy would
then transfer to UCSB where she played her junior and senior years.
In club, Kathy played for the Silicon Valley Red Devils, and San Francisco Nighthawks at the Semi-Professional level, and currently plays with the Red Devils in the Silicon Valley Premiere League. She has also played in the Netherlands' first division with RCL Leiderdorp.
In High School Kathy went to Prospect High School in San Jose. She helped lead Prospect HS to a Central Coast Section title.
Alan Kute is a Bay Area native. He played youth soccer growing up as well
as other sports. A graduate of Lynbrook High School in San Jose he then went
on to play soccer at both a Community College and then San Jose State University.
He began coaching soccer in 1996 and has been coaching ever since. He has
coached every age group from U6 up to the college level. He successfully
coached Monta Vista High School in Cupertino for 10 years, 9 years as the
head coach. His teams made the CCS playoffs for 9 straight years including
many league championships, and one CCS Championship. He was twice voted
coach of the year for all sports at Monta Vista.
Alan has been both a head coach and an assistant coach for the Force soccer club since 2000. He was the assistant coach on the Force 91 girl's club team that won 3 straight California State Cup Championships. Every player from this team went on to play soccer in college. Recently Alan was an assistant coach for the Force 95 girl's team which played in the ECNL. This team was the ECNL conference champions, a national playoff team and they also made the Surf Cup finals in 2013.
Alan holds a National 'D' coaching license from USSF and National Youth Diploma from NSCAA.
Having been both a head coach and assistant coach gives Alan the appreciation of how to get the most from teams using the strengths and talents of each coach and player. He enjoys collaborating to get input from all those involved.
Coach Imaan has coached at Foothill College for over a year now and was a huge
reason the team had its best season in recent histroy. Imaan is able to coach
the players on individual skills and is willing to spend extra time with players
who are trying to improve specific areas of their game. Imaan also coaches club
soccer in the bay area.
Imaan played soccer at UC Berkeley where he earned a full athletic scholarship. He was selected to tryout with Chivas USA and the SJ Earthquakes. He was voted top player on the Cal North State and Region ODP teams. He made the National team pool and played for Santa Clara Sporting Club when he was younger. Imaan also has International playing experience.
His focus is on player development. It is his goal to teach players how to control the ball in every way so it becomes second nature. Continued effort is dedicated to these basic skills along with increased focus on tractics and teamwork.
Is a professional youth soccer coach from the San Francisco, Bay Area.
He grew up in a family of emphatic Chilean football fans so the beautiful sport
was in his blood before he took his first steps. At the youth level, he played
in every major tournament from Dallas Cup to Surf Cup. From the age of 13 years
old and on, he was fortunate to play abroad in the Chilean Professional
youth system for Universidad de Catolica and was offered a professional
contract by C.D. Naval at the age of 17. In High School, he was selected
by the US Futsal Federation to represent the United States at the Professional
World Championships in Moscow, Russia. After High School, he played four
years at the University of San Francisco, winning the 2004 WCC Championship
and qualifying for the NCAA tournament. Afterwards, he spent a year playing
in the Chilean first division for C.D. Santiago Wanderers as a developmental player.
Mikey completed his Bachelor Degree in Business Administration and Accounting at the University of San Francisco and is currently working towards a Masters Degree in Kinesiology and Physical Education from Fresno Pacific University. He received the United States Soccer Federation A License, NSCAA Advanced National Diploma, and Positive Coaching Alliance Double Goal Coach Award.
Michelle is the head athletic trainer for the women's soccer team. She makes sure the team has coverage at every practice and game in case players need treatment or have an injury. Michelle runs the Athletic Training Center (ATC) with Warren Voyce. The ATC is where our players go on campus to do their rehab and injury prevention activities. She has worked with the soccer players at FC since 2006 as well as all other sports. Michelle has her Masters Degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Athletic Training. We are very lucky to have a professional athletic trainer working with our athletes every day.
